Home Energy Scotland’s Grant and Loan scheme removed solar PV and battery storage from eligibility for new applicants from 6 June 2024, including packages with a heat pump. Do not budget for a new PV or battery award under this scheme.

What to do next

Solar water heating and hybrid PV/water-heating systems are different: the current terms list loan-only support of up to £5,000 for each. Ask Home Energy Scotland about the exact technology and any other routes that may apply. A loan is repayable; an old installer badge is not evidence that PV funding is available.
