ECO4 is an energy-supplier obligation, not a cash grant you can claim for any chosen solar installation. Its end date has been extended to 31 December 2026. New applications are allowed, but suppliers may limit new delivery as they complete obligations and remediation. Solar support depends on assessment; battery storage is not eligible under ECO4.

What to do next

Confirm whether a supplier or its delivery partner is accepting your project before arranging work. An installer’s historical ECO4 category does not prove current access to funding. Do not treat the extension as a promise of free panels or a guaranteed application place.
